TOP Winter Week is Tilburg University’s introduction week for new incoming students. TOP Winter Week 2025 is scheduled from Tuesday, January 21, to Thursday, January 23, 2025. It’s the perfect opportunity to get to know your fellow students, the city, and everything it has to offer, so you can familiarize yourself with all the fun aspects of student life in Tilburg.

What is TOP Winter Week?
TOP Winter Week is the introduction week for all new students starting their studies at Tilburg University in February. All (Pre-)Master’s and Exchange students are welcome to join. During TOP Winter Week, everything revolves around getting to know your fellow students, the city of Tilburg, and its vibrant student life. This will ensure you get off to a great start!

Who organizes TOP (Winter) Week?
TOP (Winter) Week is organized by and for students. The organization consists of a seven-member board that works year-round to prepare two introduction weeks (in January and August). Additionally, from March to August, the board is supported by 13 committee members who work hard to create an amazing introduction week.

Do I have to participate in the entire program?
Nothing is mandatory, and everything is optional this week. However, it’s definitely more fun to participate in as much as possible and get to know your new student city better.
Where can I turn to in case of harassment or sexual violence?
If you experience transgressive behavior during TOP Winter Week or elsewhere, there are several organizations you can contact for support. The members of the TOP Board are always available to help and guide you. In the event of sexual violence, you can contact one of the following authorities:
The police (112 for emergencies / 0900-8844 if it is not an emergency).
Sexual Assault Center: 0800-0188.
All phone numbers are available 24 hours a day.

What is a (Study) Program Introduction?
The International Office of Tilburg University organizes a Program Introduction on Monday, January 20. During this introduction, you will get to know all the practical matters related to your studies at Tilburg University.

Do I need to arrange my own accommodation during TOP Winter Week?
If you don’t have a room in Tilburg yet, that’s not a problem. Your mentors will ensure that you have accommodation during TOP Winter Week. Once your mentors have received your contact details and created a group chat, they will arrange accommodation for everyone, either at the mentor’s house or with another group member.
What alcohol and drug policy does TOP have?
Our alcohol policy is fully in line with Dutch law. This means that alcohol will not be sold to anyone under the age of 18.
Additionally, the TOP Foundation has a zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs. If you are caught using, carrying, or selling drugs, you will be excluded from all our events, and the police will be notified. If there is suspicion of drug use, security personnel are authorized to search you, and you may be denied entry to an event.
However, in case of serious medical issues due to drug use, you should always call the Dutch emergency number, 112. You will not be arrested, as drug use is not prohibited in the Netherlands.

Can senior students participate in TOP Winter Week again?
Yes, this is possible!
How is the group division made?
All students participating in TOP Week will be divided into groups. These groups consist of approximately 20 students. As far as possible, you will be placed in a group with people from your own study program.
It is not possible to sign up with a friend, as the group division is done automatically and randomly. Furthermore, it’s actually more fun to meet new people!
